More than 87,000 shooting fans and general visitors are expected to attend this year’s Midland Game Fair.

More than 87,000 shooting and countryside sports enthusiasts are expected to visit the 27th Midland Game Fair, which will be held at Weston Park, in Shropshire, this weekend.

According to organisers, the Midland is home to more championship finals than any other countryside event.

These include the grand final for the Mitsubishi Motors World Series (MMWS) Clay Shooting Championship, Richa Premier Gundog League, European Field Target Championships, Game Conservancy National Gundog Finals and All Shires Net Making.

The Saturday of the game fair represents the last chance for shooting enthusiasts to qualify for the MMWS Championship (which is held on the Sunday) over a 60-bird Sporting course of eight stands.

In addition to the MMWS qualification, there will be cash prizes in all classes with a High Gun prize of £100.

On the Sunday, 80 shooters will battle it out to win the biggest prize in clay shooting, a brand new Mitsubishi L200 Trojan pickup worth £20,000.

Visitors to this year’s Sporting Gun and Shooting Times stands on Gunmakers’ Row will be able to take advantage of numerous offers and discounts such as the special subscription offers.

Those who subscribe to Sporting Gun at the fair will receive a free bottle of Sloe Gin, a Garland’s boot bag and some shooting socks..

Those who subscribe to Shooting Times at the fair will receive a free bottle of Balvenie malt whisky worth £30.
