The fourth annual National Shooting Week takes place between Saturday 29 May and Sunday 6 June 2010.

Shooting is one of the most inclusive Olympic and Paralympic sports where gender, age and disability are no barriers to success.

Sports Minister, Gerry Sutcliffe, says: “National Shooting Week is an opportunity for the sport to show itself to the wider community in the UK. The week gives an opportunity for all the misconceptions about shooting to be put to one side but it also gives people the chance to understand that this is a sport that can be for everybody.”

More than 200 public open days took place during National Shooting Week 2009, giving newcomers to the sport the chance to try shooting for the first time in a safe and friendly environment.

Why not give it a shot in 2010 – who knows you could be discovered as a shooting star for London 2012?
Simply go to Find an Event Near You to locate a nearby shooting club.

Remember, though, to keep revisiting the website closer to National Shooting Week because more events will appear in March and April.

Aims of National Shooting Week
- To enable anyone to try shooting for the first time.

- To promote respect for and understanding of legal firearms and airguns.

- To provide opportunities to try Olympic and Paralympic disciplines on a nationwide scale.

National Shooting Week is organised by the Countryside Alliance on behalf of the British Shooting Sports Council, which represents all the main shooting organisations.
