As the last pre-season opportunity to bag a bargain, you can’t beat the magic of The Midland game fair.
And if bargains galore aren’t enough, why not use the opportunity to sharpen your skills on the clay line, maybe meet up with old mates, have a great day out and, most importantly, thoroughly enjoy yourself?
For us shooters, though, Gunmakers’ Row will obviously be the focal point of the show - and with around 200 exhibitors - you’ll be spoilt for choice - so make sure you bring your wallet and your gun certificates.
Sporting Gun’s stand is smack in the middle of Avenue A on Gunmakers’ Row (conveniently between the bar areas!) so make sure you come and say hello and see what great subscription offers are on offer.
The Midland is not all just about shooting, though; it’s a celebration of the rural way of life.
There’s something for everyone - from fishing and falconry to gundogs and gunslips.
There’s great competitions to watch too: including the grand final of the Mitsubishi Motors World Series Clay Shooting - featuring all the top names in the shooting world - and the fantastic skills of both dogs and trainers in the Mitsubishi Motors World Series Gundog Championship.
AND DON’T forget that SG’s fantastic Clubman Championship is being held at the Midland this year - and there’s still a chance to shoot and challenge your mates.
In a new initiative for the Clubman competition, all eligible shooters who have forgotten to pre-register can simply pay to enter as an individual Gun on the day they want to shoot.
Head for the Mitsubishi Final stand area, hand over your £25 (cash only) and get yourself ready to shoot.
(Remember, though, this facility is strictly on a first-come/first-served, and only if time allows basis!).
Don’t worry too much if you forget your fibre-wad cartridges either, as suitable Fiocchi shells will be on sale at the registration area.
