Francis Lovel & Co have completed the purchase of the famous gunmaking names of Henry Atkin, Stephen Grant & Joseph Lang.
Established in 1821 as finest makers of best guns and rifles, Atkin Grant & Lang have continually manufactured guns in a traditional artisan style.
The factory will remain at the Broomhills site in Hertfordshire - employing five fulltime members of staff - working on new best guns, full referbishment and re-building of older Atkin, Grant & Lang guns; as well as general trade and private repair work.
Francis Lovel, co-director of the company, said: “We are delighted to have purchased Atkin Grant & Lang as well as the Broomhills site in Hertfordshire. We have an exciting development plan in place that will see the very best examples of traditional London gunmaking being produced - we will not be looking to the continent for rebranded shotguns.”
“In 2012, we will launch a new range of best guns built by us, continuing the style and heritage of these famous London names.”
