Will drink driving lose me my shotgun certificate?

Will drink driving lose me my shotgun certificate?

It is an offence to be drunk in charge of a loaded firearm.

I have been done for drink driving. I was caught after a shoot and was about twice over the limit and had my guns in the car. I know I’m going to lose my licence but what about my shotgun certificate?

Shooting legal advice
DAVID FROST
You're a stupid idiot. Commonsense should tell you that alcohol and firearms do not mix.

A sloe gin after the second drive or a glass of wine with lunch is fine but anything more is tempting fate and putting your companions at potential risk.

Not only are you unsafe but it is also an offence to be drunk in charge of a loaded firearm.

Whether you keep your certificate or not will depend partly on the attitude of the police and partly on whether you have any other similar convictions.

The issue is whether or not your behaviour casts doubt on your suitability to hold a certificate and in particular whether you might present a danger to the public safety or the peace.
