Clay shooting: I've just started shooting a few FITASC Sporting events and love it! But one of the things that baffles me is some of the terminology used by shooters including their reference to 'technical' targets. What does that mean?

Nothing mysterious here – what they’re saying is that the targets - which might look straightforward at first glance – are anything but: subtle speeds and angles are masking the real truth.
Some shoots might try to sort the men from the boys by using sheer speed and distance but a clever course designer uses the skyline, tree line and ground undulations to fool the shooter.
The message here is to look extremely closely at any target that for no apparent reason causes other squad members problems.
