During winter when I work ferrets daily they are kept in mixed sex accommodation.
That said I own very few jills as I prefer to work hobs as they are stronger.
It won’t make any difference to a ferret’s working ability if they are kept in mixed or non mixed housing but during the summer months hob ferrets can start fighting if kept together.
To avoid these unwanted scraps it’s then best to separate them.
